hot tub filters

online catalog . western tub and pool 403-248-0777When should filters be replaced?

We recommend yearly hot tub filter replacement but if your spa filter is more than two years old, you should toss it no matter how it may look. This is because your hot tub filter is made of a fibrous material that gradually loosens over time creating even larger spaces for particles to push through and gunk up your pump.

– No matter how old your hot tub filter is, if you can’t get it reasonably clean,
it’s time for it to go.
– If your hot tub filter element (the center part) actually feels loose.
– The center element is ripped, bent or imploded or the caps on the end are brittle, cracked
or very discoloured.

FILTER REPLACEMENT GUIDE

1. Measure the outside diameter of the cartridge (in inches, +/- 1/32”).
2. Measure the cartridge length (in inches, +/- 1/16”) including end caps but excluding any
handles or other extensions. It is recommended to measure through the center (if possible) rather than along the outside edge.
3. Identify the cartridge outside edge end cap configuration  (End Caps Guide)
If the top and/or bottom is “open,” measure the inside diameter (in inches, +/- 1/32”) of the top and/or bottom.
4. Record the OEM name and model of the filter the cartridge came out of (if possible).
5. Count the number of pleats (+/- 2) and note whether there is a center core or not.

The information gathered in 1-5 above can then be used to identify a
proper replacement.  (Find filter by OEM)
